This document aims to summarize some of the most common questions and specific data errors to facilitate their resolution.
Can I test the application?
Sure! You just need to install it from AppSource in a Business Central test environment, and the application will be automatically activated in all demo companies. If you want to test it with your own data, the application will display a notification on the role center indicating that the 15-day trial period can be activated. Just click on the notification and confirm the dialog that appears to activate all its functionality.
We are convinced that our application is the best warehouse solution in the market, and we believe that the best way to demonstrate it is by giving the option to try it, without restrictions and without any commitment.
Do users of iDynamics Advanced Warehouse need Dynamics 365 Business Central licenses?
Yes, any user who interacts with Dynamics 365 Business Central, even indirectly through the warehouse device, requires a Business Central usage license.
Dynamics 365 Business Central offers device licenses, intended for interacting with Business Central from warehouse devices. However, users of iDynamics Advanced Warehouse can use any of the following license types:
- Dynamics 365 Device: These licenses allow sharing a device among multiple operators to perform warehouse tasks. This type of licensing is very useful in scenarios where, for example, shifts are worked, or operators do not work at the same time. For instance, if we have 5 devices used by 10 operators, we will only need 5 licenses.
Dynamics 365 Team Member: Team Member licenses are nominal and are intended for users who require basic access to Dynamics 365 Business Central. Due to the functional limitations of this license type, iDynamics Advanced Warehouse covers, in a controlled manner, certain warehouse operations performed from the mobile device by using a service (Web Service), which is executed synchronously and is completely transparent to the end user. The iDynamics Advanced Warehouse operations that are covered by this service, when performed from the mobile device, are:
- Manipulate existing warehouse activities.
- Post existing warehouse activities.
Post warehouse operations based on reclassification journals, such as Relocate and Palletize.
Any operation other than those listed above is not guaranteed with a Team Member license and is subject to the limitations defined by Microsoft for this type of license.
Each iDynamics Advanced Warehouse operator requires a license, regardless of sharing the same device. For example, if we have 5 devices used by 10 operators, we will need 10 licenses.
- Dynamics 365 Business Central (Essential or Premium): These are complete licenses that provide access to all functionality (Essential or Premium). Users with these types of licenses can use iDynamics Advanced Warehouse without any limitations. Designed for users who, in addition to using devices with iDynamics Advanced Warehouse, for Essential users, communication will be done via a web service for necessary cases.
To use iDynamics Advanced Warehouse, in addition to Dynamics 365 Business Central licenses, you need usage licenses for iDynamics Advanced Warehouse. Prominently distributed with unlimited users without a series as a launch offer.
