Coupon Templates

Description

Discount coupon templates serve to create a predefined structure for discount coupons, facilitating quick and easy generation while adhering to the template's pattern.

To create templates, we need to access the Sales Discount Coupon Templates page. We can do this from the coupons list, under the Related button, where we'll find this option.

SDC template list

General

This section provides the general information for the template.

SDC template general

  • Code. Specifies a unique identifier for the sales discount coupon template.
  • Description: Provides a brief description for the sales discount coupon template.
  • Type. The available values are:
    • Manual. Indicates that the coupon can be applied manually when creating sales discount coupons.
    • Rebate. Specifies that the coupon can be assigned as a benefit of customer targets.
    • General. Denotes that the coupon can be used for both manual application and as a benefit of customer targets.

Code Generation

Specifies the pattern that the coupons created with this template will follow.

SDC template code generation

  • Prefix. Specifies the characters that will be used as a prefix when creating the coupon codes that will be generated from this template.
  • Suffix. Specifies the characters that will be used as a suffix when creating the coupon codes that will be generated from this template.
  • Number of Blocks. Specifies the number of blocks that will be used to build the coupon codes that will be generated from this template.
  • Block Length. Specifies the length for each block that will be used to build the coupon codes that will be generated from this template.
  • Block Separator. Specifies separator characters between the blocks that will be used to build the coupon codes that will be generated from this template.
  • Block Content. Specifies the characters to use for each block that will be used to build the coupon codes that will be generated from this template. The available values are:
    • Letters and Numbers. Both letters and numbers will be used in the coupon code blocks.
    • Letters Only. Only letters will be used in the coupon code blocks.
    • Numbers Only. Only numbers will be used in the coupon code blocks.
  • Coupon Code Example. Example of a coupon code that will be created when generating sales discount coupons from this template.

Filters

The filters set in the template will be applied to the coupons created from this template. They will be the criteria that must be met for a coupon to apply to a sale.

SDC template filters

  • Filter Type. Specifies to which types of sales lines this sales discount coupon applies.
  • Filter No.. Specifies the code of the sales line filter type, if necessary.
  • Sales Territory. Specifies the sales territory to which this sales discount coupon applies.
  • Dimension Filter 1
  • Code. Specifies a dimension filter. If specified, this discount coupon can only be applied to sales with this combination of dimension code and value.
  • Value. Specifies a dimension filter. If specified, this discount coupon can only be applied to sales with this combination of dimension code and value.
  • Dimension Filter 2
  • Code. Specifies a dimension filter. If specified, this discount coupon can only be applied to sales with this combination of dimension code and value.
  • Value. Specifies a dimension filter. If specified, this discount coupon can only be applied to sales with this combination of dimension code and value.

Discount

In this section, we establish the discount on the sales invoice when the coupon is applied.

SDC template discount

  • Discount Type. Specifies whether the sales discount coupon consists of a fixed amount or a percentage discount.
  • Discount Amount (LCY). Specifies the discount amount of the coupon in the local currency.
  • Discount %. Specifies the percentage of discount of the coupon that will be applied to sales.
  • Usage. The available values are:
    • Unlimited Use: The coupon can be used multiple times within the established dates.
    • Single Use: The coupon can only be used once.
    • Single Use by Customer: The coupon can only be used once by each customer.

Additional Conditions

Specifies additional conditions for the sales discount coupon.

SDC template additional conditions

  • Min. Sales Amount (LCY). Specifies the minimum sales amount, in local currency, from which it is possible to apply this discount coupon. The defined filters are taken into account when calculating this minimum amount, such as product, product group, dimensions, etc., so that only some lines of the sales document may add up.

Accounting

This section contains details regarding the accounting treatment of coupons generated from this template.

SDC template accounting

  • Accounting. Specifies how to account for discounts generated for a sale from this coupon.
  • Account No.. Specifies the account number that will be used when a sales line is generated with the discount from this coupon.
  • Department Code. Specifies the code for the global dimension that is linked to the record or entry for analysis purposes. Discount sales lines generated from this coupon will be assigned this value.
  • Customergroup Code. Specifies the code for the global dimension that is linked to the record or entry for analysis purposes. Discount sales lines generated from this coupon will be assigned this value.
