Use of the barcode reader in iDynamics Shopfloor
Description
iDynamics Shopfloor allows the use of the included keyboard of Android/iOS/Windows devices.
Barcode Scanning
To read barcodes, you can use the built-in camera or an external barcode reader connected to the device by cable or Bluetooth.
What is it?
Shopfloor allows you to use a barcode reader (Bluetooth or USB) to work faster and without typing. You do not need to press any button or position yourself in a field: just scan the code and the application performs the action corresponding to the screen you are on. Fields must be concatenated with the ; separator.
Important: the same code produces different results depending on the screen. Before scanning, make sure you are on the correct screen.
What happens when a code is scanned on each screen?
1. Identification screen (login)
What to scan: the operator badge or identification card with the employee number.
Result: the user is identified and the application moves to the list of Work Centers.
2. Work Center and Machine Center screens
What to scan: the production order label (routing, work ticket, etc.).
Result:
- The operation of the order is started in the user's name.
- The application opens directly the machine where that operation is performed. No need to search it in the list.
3. Machine screen
What to scan: the production order label.
Result:
- The operation of the order is started in the user's name.
- If the operation belongs to another machine, the application switches automatically to that machine.
4. Materials screen (component list)
What to scan: the material label to be used, including its lot, serial number, or package.
Result:
- The application automatically identifies which component it is. No need to select it first.
- It assigns that lot, serial number, or package to the component of the order.
- If your company has it configured, a window opens to confirm the quantity to be consumed.
5. Consumption screen (with a component already selected)
What to scan: the material label of that component.
Result:
- The read lot, serial number, or package is assigned to the currently open component.
- If your company has it configured, it asks to confirm the quantity.
- If the component already had all its quantity covered but more stock exists, the tracking list for the scanned lot opens so the user can decide.
6. Other screens
On the remaining screens (stops, scrap, quality, documentation, registration, etc.) scanning does nothing, unless your company has a customization.
