This document aims to summarize some of the most common questions and particular data errors to facilitate their resolution.
Can I try the application?
Absolutely! Simply install it from AppSource in a Business Central trial environment, and the application will automatically activate in all demo companies. If you want to try it with your own data, the application will display a notification on the home role center indicating that a 15-day trial period can be activated. Just click on the notification and confirm the dialog that appears to activate its full functionality.
We're convinced that our application is the best solution for managing a productive plant in the market, and we believe the best way to demonstrate it is by providing the option to try it, without restrictions and without any commitment.
Do iDynamics Shopfloor users need Dynamics 365 Business Central licenses?
Yes, any user interacting with Dynamics 365 Business Central, even indirectly through the warehouse device, requires a Business Central usage license.
Dynamics 365 Business Central offers device licenses, intended for interaction with Business Central from warehouse devices. However, iDynamics Shopfloor users can utilize any of the following license types:
- Dynamics 365 Device: These licenses allow sharing a device among multiple operators for warehouse tasks. This licensing type is useful in scenarios where, for example, shifts are worked or operators do not work simultaneously. For instance, if you have 5 devices used by 10 operators, you will only need 5 licenses.
- Dynamics 365 Team Member: Team Member licenses are nominal and intended for users requiring basic access to Business Central. Due to the functional limitations of these licenses, some actions in iDynamics Shopfloor are executed through a webservice. This is transparent to the end-user as it's done synchronously.
Each Shopfloor operator requires a license, regardless of sharing the same device. For example, if you have 5 devices used by 10 operators, you'll need 10 licenses.
- Dynamics 365 Business Central (Essential or Premium): These are comprehensive licenses that provide access to all functionality (Essential or Premium). Users with these licenses can use iDynamics Shopfloor without any limitations. For users with Essential licenses, communication will be through a webservice for necessary cases.
To use iDynamics Shopfloor, apart from Dynamics 365 Business Central licenses, you need iDynamics Shopfloor usage licenses. Promotional distribution includes unlimited users without serials as a launch offer.
