Employees and Manufacturing Order Costs
We can configure the number of operators required to perform the route task from the route screen itself:
There are two scenarios:
- Total Number of Operators zero or one means that only one operator is allowed for that manufacturing task.
- Total Number of Operators >1 means that several operators will be working simultaneously on that task.
Description
In this case, it's defined that a maximum of 2 operators can work on this route task. If we enter the machine, we'll see the following:
- The operator AG is working on this machine.
We see that there is (1) other operator who could join as assistance on this machine.
If a second operator wishes to join, they need to click the button:
Then, they'll be prompted to log in:
And you'll notice two things:
- Now, there are 2 operators working on this machine, AG and CA.
The operator manipulating the screen is CA and hence appears in green.
If any operation is registered now:
- The operator performing it is CA
- Costs for both workers AG and CA will be allocated based on their respective hourly rates defined in their resource profile (explained in the next section).
Cost Configuration
iDynamics Shopfloor enables managing the cost of operators, allowing their time allocations to be costed into manufacturing:
To activate this configuration in iDynamics Shopfloor:
Here, a general cost for operators can be configured, which can then be specified for each resource.
Employee Costs
Business Central allows associating a resource with an employee:
This resource will have its cost rates in the resource profile:
For each record made from the Shopfloor, two costs will be allocated:
- The cost defined for the machine in its setup for execution time.
The cost of the employee/s who worked on that machine (if cost management has been activated).
In the Work Center associated with that machine center, it will be indicated whether to work with costs per time or per units.
Note: It's most common to use time for internally processed tasks and units for subcontracted work centers
Readings
iDynamics Shopfloor incorporates a Readings screen that shows the machine status:
In this example, we see that it's a family order, so it has 2 lines for each production. In the readings, there's always one marked as Machine, which records the machine's cost, and another one without this checkbox activated, which records the operator's cost(s).
