Package Types
In order to use packages, the first thing that you need to do is to create at least one package type. In order to do so, type Package Types in the general search bar in Business Central.
If packages have preassigned barcodes, or if you use pre-printed barcode package labels, the Barcode pattern lets you define a regular expression that matches their format. This way, users will be able to scan the barcode in order to add or select packages to a document, instead of manually entering them.
Dimensions (Length, Width, Height), Cubage, and Weight information, will be shown in the packing list reports provided with the application.
Units of Measure
By default, volumes and weights in Business Central don't have a unit of measure specified, and its up to the company to decide which unit will be used. As this information must be printed in the packing reports, iDynamics Warehouse lets you specify a unit of measure for both volume and weight.
These are defined on the iDynamics Warehouse Setup page, and will be shown in the packing list reports included with iDynamics Warehouse. Type iDynamics Warehouse Settings in the general search bar in Business Central, in order to access the setup screen.
