Available Actions
Description
Even after a commission entry has been posted, its amounts can be adjusted or reassigned. Entries can also be put on hold or cancelled if there is an issue with the commission.

Settle Commissions
The Settle Commissions... action in the action bar lets you generate settlement documents or purchase invoices to settle outstanding commissions.
You can learn more about this process and how commissions are settled using the app in the Settle Commissions chapter.
Put Entries on Hold
One or more commission entries can be put On Hold using the Home > Set On Hold... action. Entries in this state cannot be added to purchase or settlement documents and therefore cannot be settled.
Use this action when a commission entry requires review and you want to prevent it from being accidentally included in a settlement document.
The action opens a dialog requesting a short comment stating why the commissions were put on hold. When confirmed, a detailed commission entry of type "On Hold" is added to the entry and includes the specified comment.
Once the commission is ready for review, reactivate it using Home > Continue, which replaces Set On Hold for entries already on hold. This action deletes the "On Hold" detailed commission entry and returns the commission entry to Pending status.
Cancel Commission Entries
One or more commission entries can be cancelled using the Cancel... action, available from the dropdown to the right of Set On Hold. This creates a detailed commission entry of type "Cancellation" for the total commission amount and closes the entry without creating any related settlement document.

Once a commission has been cancelled, the action changes to Restore, allowing you to restore any commission that was cancelled by mistake.
Commissions that have already been settled (either totally or partially), or that are currently assigned to a settlement or purchase document cannot be cancelled.
Skip Customer Payment Requirement
This action is available only if you have configured the app to require customer payment before settling commissions. It lets you skip that requirement on a per-commission basis so certain commissions can be paid even if the customer has not paid the sales invoice.

This action can only be applied to commission entries with Awaiting Invoice Payment set to Yes. It can be undone (a Restore Payment Requirement action appears when applicable).
Update Direct Commissions
This action is a simplified version of the Update Commissions/Sales Stats action available in the posted invoices and credit memos list. It updates commissions based on adjusted costs or updated commission rates, without updating commission groups.

See the section about adjusted costs if you defined commissions based on gross profit and want to schedule this report so commissions are updated automatically when invoice costs are adjusted.
Accrue Commissions
If the feature has been enabled, you can manually accrue commissions using this action. See the accruals section for details on how to set up the G/L accounts used for accruals and how to schedule this process so that it runs automatically.
Create Manual Commission Entries
Create manual commissions directly from the Commission Entries list using Home > New Manual Commission.... You can also use the import journal to add multiple manual commissions at once.
Add Comments
Use the Comments action in the Entry menu to add notes to entries.
These comments are visible from the list opened by that action and from the entry factbox.

Show All Detailed Commission Entries
This action in the Actions menu (click More options to reveal it) navigates to a list of all detailed commission entries. This is useful for running queries, using the Analysis view, or exporting entries.
Reassign Commission Amounts
Also in the Actions menu, assign the amount of the selected commission entry (in full or in part) to a different salesperson.
Reassigning creates a new detailed commission entry that adjusts the original amount and creates (or updates) a commission entry for the new salesperson/invoice/sales target with a detailed entry for the assigned amount.

Reassigning a commission amount does not update sales statistics for the original sales document or target; reports still attribute sales to the original salesperson. Although this option remains available, we recommend using the new options to edit posted documents, which update the posted document as well as its commissions and sales stats.
